Glutathione, the body's master antioxidant, plays crucial roles in cellular protection, detoxification, and immune function. However, traditional oral glutathione supplements suffer from poor absorption due to digestive breakdown and limited cellular uptake. This study investigated whether liposomal encapsulation could overcome these limitations.

Researchers conducted both laboratory and human studies comparing LipoDuo™ liposomal glutathione with standard glutathione. In cellular experiments using human kidney cells, they measured uptake rates, cell growth, and wound healing. For human testing, twelve healthy volunteers received either liposomal or regular glutathione, with blood levels tracked for 24 hours.
