Ginkgo Extract Shows Promise for Preventing Alzheimer's Progression in Major Trial

This major clinical trial investigated whether EGb 761, a standardized Ginkgo biloba extract, could prevent the progression from mild memory complaints to Alzheimer's dementia. The study followed 2,878 participants over seven years, comparing those taking the herbal supplement against placebo. Participants had existing memory concerns but had not yet developed dementia. Researchers tracked cognitive decline and dementia onset to determine if the extract provided protective benefits.
